Nick began our first day with a demonstration of lino cut techniques and a review of the available Lino Cutting Tools. This was followed by a short time spent practicing mark making using the Lino Cutting Tools and a practice with printing using either a wooden spoon or a brayer for pressure. We then over-printed on a print from someone else to get a feel for the experience of overprinting.

We then began working on a lino print design of our own by first tracing the design and then transferring it onto the lino, colouring in the parts of the lino we’d like printed and then printing our finished piece.
