Received the following email from Becs at CARN – really pleased to have had work accepted for this exhibition.

Hello Michelle,

Thanks for your email and application for AGEN  (aperture) exhibition at BALACLAFA.

We would like to exhibit the following photographs and video piece

1. Betwixt
2. Lost
3. Hope
4. Outsider

Please bring these artworks to BALACLAFA on the morning of Wednesday 31st of January, with instructions for installing and monitor and headphones as previously discussed with Menna.

Invitation and marketing materials will be shared across social media and e-invites over the next two days, we apologies for the delay but unfortunately there have been two separate bereavements to members this month.

The opening on Friday is still going ahead for 7pm and we hope you and your friends/family can make it.

I completed the following Application for Aperture and sent it off to Carn.

Please find attached my application for Aperture.

For information this is part of a larger body of work and there are another three photographs which I have not included and there is a professionally printed book about the work that could be put on display also.

For information, I will also be providing a TV/DVD Combi and headphones for the video to be displayed.

To confirm, I am able to deliver all the work to Balaclafa on Monday before 5pm.

Hi Becs

I am one of the third year students on the BA Fine Art course at Coleg Menai, throughout the course Photography and Video have been strong components of my work.

I am definitely interested in this opportunity and I have a couple of queries.

Firstly I already have work accepted for the one minute festival so my first question is does this exclude me from this opportunity.

In the event that it doesn’t Would you like me to complete the application form that you sent to Helen? If so, when would you like me to return it.

I received the following email via Helen from Carn about their forthcoming Aperture exhibition.

Hei Owein and Helen,

I understand time is short but BALACLAFA, the new multi-purpose creative hub in Caernarfon will re-open on Friday the 2nd of February with the exhibition AGEN (Aperture).

This particular exhibition is to co-incide with the One Minute Moving Image Festival at the end of February www.oneminutenorthwales.com 

It will be an exhibition of lens based photography, sound art and video from traditional methods to more abstract and contemporary photo based artworks.

We wanted to invite 2 or 3 of your Foundation and BA students who have existing photography, sound or video work to exhibit alongside emerging and professional artists from North Wales. Attached is the exhibition form with more information, however we will be installing the exhibition on Wednesday the 31st January.

We obviously realise this is far too much of a short notice but still wanted to give the opportunity just in case a particular student came to mind. Please forward our contact details to them and if they acquire more information please get in touch.

We will also keep you posted with any further opportunities with the art space.
