Having previously looked at including printed imagery on paper with latex and objects with latex I also wanted to experiment with printing on fabric. I have the laser printed samples and I decided to use an ink jet photo transfer.
Again two layers of latex – thirds layer printed fabric then a layer of shirt cotton and latex then two final latex layers.
Reflection
Happy overall about the end result for all three. I wasn’t overly happy with the weight of these pieces – a heavier weight fabric creates a more solid piece.
The best result for me was the print transfer using an inkjet photo. The latex managed to stick to this yet still gave this lovely effect which added to the image (the middle one above).
