Documenting my sketchbook pages to date has made me reflect on the importance of a sketchbook as part of my process.
An extension of each experiment, producing the sketchbook pages serves to give me space to step back from the doing and reflect on the process and experiment further. This helps me to see more clearly the direction of the work moving forward.
Reflection
Whilst I have been preparing this sketch book there has been a shift in my perceptions. Previously I would have seen a sketchbook as a method of documenting my work, however now I see it as an extension to the work and another way to express the theme using the imagery I currently have. I feel this has prepared me for much opportunity and many new possibilities for reflection and continuation of my practice.
