Response to Tutorial
Firstly I fixed my Epic Fails from my Plaster work by re-casting around the plaster to create solid pieces. The first piece is from a plastic cake mould. I must admit that I’m not overly happy with the result from the spray paint – it’s supposed to be a gloss finish… hmmmm…. I need to reflect on why I’ve ended up with a matt finish, my initial thoughts are that you will never get a gloss finish on plaster.
My second piece involves the dripping of glue through the grill pans.
I had spent time during this process dripping glue through the holes in the grill pans. This resulted in the following images.
Wanting to see the effects that I could produce with my iPhone I began to digitally enhance these photos with the following results.
I then began to consider how I could change my initial grill pan sculpture into something that doesn’t look like three grill pans glued together.
I moved forward from this point by spray painting my sculpture that insisted on being a tree so that it again looked less like three grill pans glued together.
