Learning Outcome 1

Formulate, describe and implement a challenging and self-directed programme of study, relating to your Project Proposal (research; subject knowledge; communication and presentation; professional and personal development).

The Project Proposals shown below evidence the iterative development undertaken during the implementation of this challenging and self direct programme of study relating to the Project Proposals. Reflecting on these proposals it is clear that I was too ambitious with my plans in the early stages and as time progressed throughout Unit 1, this became more apparent. Throughout Unit 1 I have directed my programme of study around the detail of the Project Proposals.

Project Proposal Work Schedule
Unit 1 Project Proposal – Draft 0
Unit 1 Project Proposal – Draft 1 Unit 1 Work Schedule – Draft 1
Unit 1 Project Proposal – Draft 2 Unit 1 Work Schedule – Draft 2
Unit 1 Project Proposal – Draft 3 Unit 1 Work Schedule – Draft 3

The following blog posts are in preparation for the programme of study into Unit 2 of the MA Fine Art Digital.

The following blog posts evidence research and development of artist knowledge and subject knowledge gained during the course of Unit 1 of the MA Fine Art Digital. During Unit 1 I have attempted to undertake research in a variety of forms, from gallery visits to practice based research to reading about artists on the internet and in books.

The following blog posts evidence experience of communication and presentation gained during the course of Unit 1 of the MA Fine Art Digital. I have regularly attended and contributed to the Skype Meetings online, and presented to other students at various stages of Unit 1.

The following blog posts evidence professional and personal development undertaken during the course of Unit 1 of the MA Fine Art Digital. This includes tutorials attended and the ongoing reflection of personal practice discussed with tutor. I attended some the workshops during the Low Residency that applied to professional development along with attending regular tutorials.

Learning Outcome 2

Critically engage with practice-based research and contribute actively to debate and discussion (analysis; technical competence; experimentation; collaborative and/or independent professional working).

The following blog posts evidence practice-based research, including analysis, technical competence and experimentation. Throughout Unit 1, I have followed a challenging and varied programme of practice-based research and experimentation thus developing my analytical skills and technical competence throughout.

The following blog posts evidence contribution to debate and discussion during the course of Unit 1 of the MA Fine Art Digital. During Unit 1 I have contributed to all discussions and debates and then reflected on them to understand the context more deeply.

The following blog posts evidence collaborative working, personal and professional development during the course of Unit 1 of the MA Fine Art Digital. I attended the Lower Residency for the whole period which gave me the opportunity to collaborate with my peers.

The Garden Shaman project was undertaken in collaboration with another artist and gave me the opportunity to develop professionally and further manage my contribution to the project.

Learning Outcome 3

Critically reflect upon your practice and articulate a clear understanding of methodology and context of your creative practice (analysis; research; communication and presentation).

The following blog posts evidence the iterative process of development, including analysis, research, communication and presentation undertaken during the writing of the Research Paper – An Object is just an Object or is it? I really benefited from the advice given in the tutorials and these helped me to construct my research paper and develop the content iteratively to the point I was happy to submit the paper.

Other posts that demonstrate critical reflection on my practice are listed here:

The following blog posts evidence practice-based research and subsequent reflection. At every stage the research has been reflected upon and responded to in order to develop the process further.
